Entabeni GR Sightings
The reserve can be divided roughly in a higher and a lower part. These territories are connected by a steep road, snaking through a narrow canyon. The decline is a true adventure, on the back seat of a jeep and the scenery breathtaking. Elephants and lions can be found in the lower part and a fence in the canyon makes it impossible for them to go to the higher part. The ultimate idea is to remove the barrier, but before being able to do so, the fences in the higher part of the reserve need to be reinforced (situation august 2009). The game reserve is quit small and therefore it isn't too difficult to find good game. You can't compare reserves like this with the greater national parks.
Our nicest spot in Entabeni was a pride of lions with overenthousiastic cubs. It’s always great to see them playing. Here was also our first meeting with an aardvark.
