Kruger NP Sightings

Wildlife in Kruger is abundant. There are about 500 bird species, over 100 reptiles and about 150 mammals. In our opinion the area in the south of Sabie River, between the camps Skukuza and Lower Sabie and the area around Satara are the best to visit when you want to see predators.

Thoughts about Kruger

Kruger NP is the most visited and biggest park of South Africa. The park is fully fenced and easily accessible to every tourist. Various State owned Camps, of which Skukuza is the most famous one, picnic sites and lookouts have been connected with tarmac roads. In our opinion, the park loses some of its charm because of all this, although 95% of the reserve is still more or less untouched.

We read somehwere that most visitors at Kruger will see around 30 mammals within a three days’ visit ! Although this is a little doubtful, yet it gives an indication of the massive presence of game, big and small.
