Samburu NP Sightings

A very attractive aspect of the park is the presence of uncommon animals. You’ll probably spot game that’s more resistent to draught, like the Gerenuk or the Oryx Gazella. An other “must see” is the Reticulated Giraffe, a subspecie with a reddish skin and beautiful white lines. Although the big five are present, they have not shown themselves to us.

Thoughts about Samburu

The lifeline of the park is river Ewaso Nyiro. Samburu NP is at the north side of this river whilst Buffalo Springs NR is situated south of the river. The game in these parks mainly lives around this river and can be spotted in high concentrations. Pay attention to the many crocodiles along the banks of the river!
